Resident Evil 4 Remake Demo Surprises Players With Flaming Chainsaw Man in Special Difficulty Mode

by Ali Mahmud

The Chainsaw demo for Resident Evil 4 Remake is frightening players with a Flaming Chainsaw Man as a secret boss. This dangerous foe can be unlocked in the Mad Chainsaw mode, which randomly becomes available after finishing the demo at least once. The RE4 remake demo went live yesterday as officially announced during the Capcom Spotlight 2024 showcase.

The Flaming Chainsaw Man is a callback to the original game’s Mercenaries mode

As if the regular Chainsaw Man wasn’t hard enough, this upgraded Flaming Chainsaw Man can be found in the same area near the village center. This boss may remind Resident Evil fans of the Giant Chainsaw Man who can appear in The Mercenaries mode for Resident Evil 4. As pictured by a post on Reddit, this monster also held a chainsaw that had flames coming out of it, so this looks like a cool easter egg. Either that, or maybe the RE4 Remake will also have a high difficulty mode that features this boss too.

The requirements to unlock the Mad Chainsaw Mode is a bit random, but it seems as though players need to complete the demo at least once and then hope that the mode triggers when they start a playthrough again. If it doesn’t appear, you can quit the demo and restart it until the mode triggers.

In other news, GameStop has cancelled numerous pre-orders for the Resident Evil 4 Remake Collector’s Edition. On the upside, the game will come with a revamped version of The Mercenaries mode.
