The Last of Us Part 2 Sales Increase as HBO Series Ends

by Ali Mahmud

With The Last of Us HBO series drawing to a close this weekend, players have been trying to find out what comes next, leading to a sharp increase in sales of The Last of Us Part 2. The TV show, which tells the entirety of Part 1 including its Left Behind DLC, will end season 1 on Sunday.

The Last of Us Part 2 heads to the top of the PlayStation Downloads chart

The Last of Us Part II has shot to the top of the PS4 PlayStation Downloads chart in both regions for February 2024. While the increase in sales could have been partially explained by its inclusion in the PlayStation Store Double Discounts sale, interest in The Last of Us Part 2 has certainly been peaked by the ongoing HBO series. The Last of Us Remastered also continues to have a presence in the chart, reaching #9 in the US/Canada and #7 in Europe.

The final episode of The Last of Us HBO series will bring the story of season 1 to a close. The second season of the show will focus entirely on the events of The Last of Us Part II and will continue to have producer Craig Mazin at the helm with plenty of input from executive producer Neil Druckmann.
