The Final Fantasy 16 release date was revealed at The Game Awards 2024 when Producer Naoki Yoshida took to the stage during the “Revenge” trailer. Yoshi P addressed the crowd in English before introducing the action-packed clip. In it, a demonic Esper attacks protagonist Clive Rosfield in a lengthy trailer showcasing how gritty this Final Fantasy entry may be.
Final Fantasy 16 release date set for mid-2023
Fans can expect Final Fantasy 16 to release on June 22, 2024. This is the first official confirmation of the newest Final Fantasy game’s release date following its big reveal back in September 2020 at the PS5 Showcase Event.
The PS5 exclusive takes place in the world of Valisthea, split into six factions controlled by massive mountain-like formations known as the Mothercrystals. Clive Rosfield, the son of the Archduke of the faction of Rosaria, takes on a quest for revenge after dealing with the massive beast Ifrit, known as an Eikon, in this entry.
Final Fantasy 16 looks to be adopting a more mature narrative in comparison to prior Final Fantasy adventures, with more blood, death, and other themes that the series has not traditionally focused too much on.
Fans will get their chance to see what life in Valisthea is like in 2024 when the game debuts on PS5 as a timed exclusive for six months.
