The leaked Horizon Forbidden West DLC got a release date at The Game Awards 2024. Taking players to a new location, the actual reveal trailer gave very few clues away although we do get a glimpse at an intimidating and rather large new enemy. The bad news is the Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores DLC will be PS5 exclusive.
When is the Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores release date?
Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores will be released on April 19, 2024. This agreed with the previous leak that originally placed the DLC in the middle of April 2024.
The Burning Shores teaser trailer gave very little away but did give a very brief overhead view of the brand-new Los Angeles area. On first glimpse it looks similar to the Isle of Spires, only this time with volcanic activity and a rather neglected Hollywood sign. The area is found south of the Tenakth Clan Lands and features new characters. There’s also a brand new boss enemy of the “fairly gigantic” size, complete with multiple tentacles to grab you with.
Unfortunately for PS4 players, the Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores DLC is exclusive to PS5 because Guerrilla Games “made the difficult decision to focus all our efforts on making an incredible experience exclusively for the PlayStation 5 console“. PS4 players will need to make use of the game’s free upgrade to play it.
