PS5 and PS4 Releases: Every Game Release Date for Week Beginning August 1, 2024

Last week was a relatively quiet week for the number of new PlayStation games released, but at least there were a couple of bigger titles. This week the list of new game releases coming out on PS5 and PS4 during the week  of August 1-7, 2024, is bigger but is made up almost entirely of indie games. Here is the list of all of those games coming to PlayStation consoles throughout the week.

All PS5 and PS4 August 1-7, 2024 game release dates

Frogun

There are eight games coming to PS5, while PS4 players get a choice of 13 new game releases. The sea of indie games covers a variety of topics, inlcuding an old-school platformer with a frog-shaped grappling hook, classic vertical-scrolling shoot ’em ups, and academics caught up in the political conflict of the Cold War. There are also more games in the list released purely to give you a quick and easy Platinum trophy. Here are all of the PS5 and PS4 games currently due to be released throughout the week of August 1-7, 2024. Is there anything that catches your eye?

  • Sword and Fairy: Together Forever (August 4)
  • After Wave: Downfall (August 5)
  • GigaBash (August 5)
  • Sofiya and the Ancient Clan (August 5)

PS4 Games

  • Frogun (August 2)
  • Gale of Windoria (August 2)
  • Gigapocalypse (August 2)
  • South of the Circle (August 3)
  • QuByte Classics: Thunderbolt (August 4)
  • Sword and Fairy: Together Forever (August 4)
  • Abyss (August 5)
  • After Wave: Downfall (August 5)
  • GigaBash (August 5)
  • Sofiya and the Ancient Clan (August 5)
  • The Jumping Nuggets (August 5)
  • The Jumping Pizza Turbo (August 6)
  • The Jumping Nuggets Turbo (August 7)

In other news, Sony is discontinuing the PS5 accolades feature because nobody appears to be using it. Elsewhere, Sony has also avoided all questions as to whether the PS5 console will get its price increased caused by a general increase in production costs.
