Avalanche Software has some bad news for those who’ve been hoping for Hogwarts Legacy DLC. The studio says it currently has no plans to release additional content, but the good news is, it doesn’t look like DLC is completely out of question.
Hogwarts Legacy DLC might eventually be released
“We’ve been really heads down bringing [Hogwarts Legacy] to life,” game director Alan Tew told IGN. “So, at the moment, there are no current plans for DLC.”
This statement doesn’t completely rule out the possibility of DLC. It seemingly implies that Avalanche Studio is still busy with launch window work, including updates and patches, and just hasn’t had the time to look into expanding Hogwarts Legacy. Additionally, the game has yet to release on the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, which probably means that there’s still quite a bit of work to be done.
Time will tell whether we’ll eventually get Hogwarts Legacy DLC/expansion or not, but considering the game’s success and fan reception right out of the gate, I’ll be surprised if additional content isn’t released.
Given the sales milestones it has already begun achieving, fans are already discussing Hogwarts Legacy’s sequel. Greenlighting new content or a sequel would be a no-brainer for Warner Bros.
